PRIVACY STATEMENT
We are Immer Systems B.V. (hereinafter: “we”, “us” or “IMMER”) and we are the data controller for the personal data processed when using our application, or personal data that we collect and use in, among other things, our surveys or our newsletters. We are located at Hooghiemstraplein 84, 3514 AX in Utrecht. In this privacy statement, we explain how we handle your personal data and how we respect and protect your personal data and privacy as a user of our application (“App”), recipient of our newsletter, or participant in one of our surveys.
Your personal data is treated with care by us. In doing so, we comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable regulations.
NOT YET 16 YEARS OLD?
If you are not yet 16 years old, you need permission from your parents or legal guardian to use our App.
WHAT PERSONAL DATA DO WE PROCESS?
When installing and using the App or when voluntarily participating in our reader surveys, the following personal data may be processed:
information about your use of the App, including your reading history of the books in the App: how often you read, what you think of a book, the reason why you read books, and which books and genres you read;
log data such as IP address, marketing IDs, and push notification tokens from your device;
information about your reading behavior and smartphone usage.
FOR WHAT PURPOSES DO WE PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL DATA?
We use your personal data:
to enable you to log in to our App, use our App, and read and buy books;
for establishing and executing agreements and maintaining customer contact;
to ensure that the content of the App is presented in the most effective way; • to encourage you to read more;
for sending (promotional) mailings;
for conducting market research;
for internal management and administration;
for handling complaints and disputes; and
to comply with legal obligations.
WHAT LEGAL GROUNDS DO WE HAVE FOR PROCESSING YOUR PERSONAL DATA?
We process your personal data on the basis of the following legal grounds:
performance of the agreement between you and us; for the use of the App, the purchase of books in the App, encouraging more reading, maintaining customer contact;
legitimate interest; direct marketing, (promotional) mailings, market research and improving services;
consent; for sending notifications; and
ARE YOUR DATA SHARED WITH OTHER PARTIES?
We may share your personal data with other parties if this is necessary for the execution of the purposes described above. To ensure that these parties comply with the rules, we have made the necessary agreements with them and, where required, have concluded data processing agreements with them to safeguard the security of your data.

Stripe: subscription and payment processing.
Mixpanel: product analytics.
Sentry: crash and error reporting.
Resend: transactional email delivery.
Google Cloud: hosting and storage.
THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES
Apart from third-party websites that we engage as processors, this privacy statement does not apply to third-party websites or apps, even if these are accessible via our Website or App, such as logging in via Facebook, Google, or Apple. This also applies to links to and sharing on social media. We are not responsible for the use of your personal data by those parties. We therefore recommend that you consult the privacy policy of the relevant parties.
HOW LONG DO WE RETAIN YOUR PERSONAL DATA?
We do not retain your personal data for longer than is legally permitted, legally required, and/or necessary for the purpose for which your personal data is processed.
SECURITY OF YOUR DATA
We have taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against loss and against use in violation of privacy rules. We continuously keep ourselves informed of the current state of affairs regarding the technical security of personal data and will do everything possible to prevent personal data from being lost or used unlawfully.
YOUR RIGHTS
You have a number of rights. These are:
Right to information and access: you can ask us which personal data we hold and use about you. We are also happy to tell you more about the how and why;
Right to rectification: do you think we hold incorrect personal data about you? Please let us know, and we will correct it;
Right to erasure: you can request that we delete the data we hold and use about you. We will usually do so, but sometimes we are obliged to retain the data;
Right to restriction: if you think we are doing something with your personal data that is not permitted, you can also ask us to stop using your personal data until we have thoroughly investigated the matter;
Right to object (opposition): you can object to the use or retention of your personal data. We will then look into whether we can stop this or delete your personal data. Is it about use for marketing purposes? Then we will stop that use as soon as possible; and
Right to data portability: you can have your data transferred.

We reserve the right to make changes to this privacy statement. It is recommended that you consult the most recent privacy statement regularly so that you are aware of these changes.
